DESCRIPTION:The Lyon County History Center is proud to present Musik @ the Museum as part of Emporia First Friday. Come enjoy the sounds of the Fiori Quartet with members Ramiro Miranda\, Anita Wright\, Cindy Silvero\, Riley Day\, and Irene Diaz Gill performing a varied repertoire\, from Eine Kleine Nachtmusik to jazz hits. Refreshments will be served. \nThe History Center will be open from 5 pm – 8pm. Come early and visit the “Art of War” exhibit\, currently on display in the Preston Family Gallery.

SUMMARY:Boys in Blue Cemetery Tour
DESCRIPTION:Maplewood Memorial Lawn Cemetery is the final resting place for many Civil War veterans. Explore the lives of these boys in blue before\, during and after the war as part of the “Boys in Blue Cemetery Tour” presented by the Lyon County History Center.  The tour will include information about the history of Memorial Day\, the G.A.R. Memorial\, the Old Soldiers Plot and several grave sites.  This event is open to the public and admission is free. Tour begins on the east side of the cemetery off of Lincoln Street.
